EV Metals Group plc Announces Updates to the Executive Team and Board

EV Metals Group plc (“EVM” or “the Company”), a global battery chemicals and technology company, is pleased to announce updates to the Executive Team and Board following the Annual General Meeting held on 28 December 2023.

Luke Fitzgerald has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer – EV Metals Group plc. Luke brings over 20 years of mining and metals processing experience, having held senior operational and project delivery roles at Fortescue, Arcelor Mittal, BHP and Rio Tinto in Australia, the United Kingdom, Norway, Spain and West Africa. Luke has been with EV Metals Group since December 2021 as General Manager Lithium, President Battery Resources and most recently, Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

As CEO, Luke will oversee the implementation of the Company’s strategy, which arises from a comprehensive and detailed review over the last 3 months. The value drivers of strategy for the future development and growth of EVM will be announced in early 2024.

With the appointment of Luke Fitzgerald as Group CEO to implement strategy, Michael Naylor has stepped down from the position of Managing Director and will continue to serve the Company as a Non-Executive Director of EV Metals Group.

Othman Al-Amoudi resigned from the Board as Non-Executive Director on 5 December 2023, and was replaced by Waleed Bahamdan, who was formally re-elected by Shareholders at the Annual General Meeting.

Waleed is currently Vice Chairman and Executive Board member of The Industrial Group, a diversified manufacturing group in the Arab MENA region and a large-scale provider of speciality chemicals. He brings a wealth of diversified business experience in a career spanning 28 years at a number of multinational corporations and major Saudi companies.

EVM welcomes Waleed to the Company and sincerely thanks Othman for his valuable support since his appointment on 9 September 2020.

Peter Gilmour has stepped down from his position of Executive Director. The Company sincerely thanks Peter for his valuable contribution and guidance since 2014.

David Webster has resigned as Executive Director Project Development. EVM sincerely thanks David for his wisdom and guidance to the Company since 2014 and looks forward to his ongoing involvement as an Executive in the Senior Leadership Team.
